Each Year the Eastern Tennessee Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association sponsors the Caring Hearts Recognition. The luncheon and award honors the staff person who provides outstanding compassionate, human centered, dignified  care to people in our facility.  For the past five years a member of the Samaritan Place staff has been honored with this recognition.

The Samaritan Place recipient is nominated by a vote of all facility staff. In 2003, our first recipient was Mildred McCann who is now retired. Jim Ross was chosen in 2004, Dian Gray in 2005 and in 2006 the recipient was Mary Baily. In 2007 Wilma Wilson recieved the award.
